Who we are

instacaptions AI ("we," "us") is the operator of https://instacaptions.online. Editorial and product decisions are made by the instacaptions team. You can reach us at hello@instacaptions.online or via our contact page.

What we collect

• Prompts you submit to the caption, hashtag and quote generators.
• Generated outputs and history (only saved if you're signed in or you opt in).
• Account information if you sign up: email address and authentication tokens.
• Usage analytics: page views, device type, language, country (aggregated, no PII).
• Cookies and similar technologies, see "Cookies and ads" below.

How we use it

• To generate captions, hashtags and quotes for you.
• To improve the quality of our models and editorial content (in aggregate, not individually).
• To send you a transactional email if you sign up or request a password reset.
• To detect abuse and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal data. We never have.

AI processing

Prompts you submit are sent to our AI provider (a large language model API) to generate the caption, hashtag or quote results you see. The provider processes the prompt to produce a response and may briefly retain it for abuse-detection purposes per their own terms. Don't submit sensitive personal information you wouldn't be comfortable processing through a third-party AI API.

Cookies and ads

We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes:

• Strictly necessary, to keep you signed in and remember your preferences.
• Analytics, to count page views and understand what's used.
• Advertising, third-party ad networks (including Google AdSense and direct-sold sponsors) may set cookies to serve ads, measure impressions and limit how often you see the same ad.

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in our footer. EU/UK visitors see a consent banner on first visit; we don't load advertising or analytics cookies until you accept.

Third parties, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

Sponsored content disclosure

Sponsored placements on instacaptions are labelled "Sponsored" everywhere they appear. We don't allow advertisers to influence editorial coverage. Read our full editorial standards.

Your rights

If you're in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email hello@instacaptions.online with your request. We respond within 30 days.

California residents have a right to opt out of any "sale" or "share" of personal data. We do not sell personal data. If our practice changes we'll update this page first.

Data retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time via the email above. Anonymous aggregated analytics are retained for up to 26 months.

Children

instacaptions is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us data, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy as our practices change. Material changes are dated at the top of this page. Continued use of instacaptions after a change constitutes acceptance.
